Aspiring Heights Academy is a registered private school with the Florida Department of Education. If your child is enrolled in our Graduation Plan and meets our graduation requirements, your child can earn a high school diploma from our school. Upon high school graduation, your child will be awarded with a personalized 8.5" x 11" diploma in a navy blue padded, hinged cover. Your child's diploma is signed by both the school (administrator) and the parent (instructor). Our diplomas are professionally made and include our school's crest in flat gold foil.
In order for you to receive your child's diploma by his or her graduation date, a minimum of eight weeks advance notice of graduation is required. This gives us sufficient time to process your child's final transcript and time to order your child's diploma. This also allows for sufficient mailing time. Diplomas cannot be awarded until we have verified that your child has met our graduation requirements. If your child is planning to apply for a Bright Futures Scholarship, please be aware that Florida students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by high school graduation.
Students who have met the credit requirements for graduation but have not achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale may receive a Certificate of Completion. Note, however, that a Certificate of Completion does not carry any of the privileges of a standard high school diploma.
We think you might find HSLDA's Frequently Asked Questions helpful. You'll want to read through all of it, but there is an informative section labeled High School Diploma about two-thirds of the way down. HSLDA also published an article titled Colleges Now Required to Determine “Validity” of High School Diplomas on November 2, 2010 which gives advice to students applying for Federal Student Aid.
