Ascension Parish Homeschoolers is a Facebook group serving the Ascension Parish area. They schedule park days, field trips, and offer support to other homeschooling mothers in the area. Baton Rouge Homeschool Association (BRHA) is the most active inclusive and secular group for homeschooling and unschooling families in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the surrounding parishes of Ascension, Livingston, Iberville, West Baton Rouge, Tangipahoa and the Felicianas. Their goal is to serve families who choose to homeschool by networking through online conversation, activities, monthly co-ops and weekly park days.
Northshore Home Educators Assocation (NHEA) is a non-profit association of local Christian homeschooling families like-minded in their Statement of Faith, Family, and Education, joining together for fellowship, encouragement, and enrichment. They are located on the northshore of Lake Ponchartrain in south Louisiana. NHEA offers a variety of opportunites for members: Co-op, P/E, 4-H, Choir, Speech and Debate, Drama, field trips, Spelling Bee, MEGA Fest (geography, science, and art fair), Student Council, Field Day, Stanford Achievement Testing, professionally published yearbook, graduation for K, 8th, and Seniors, and support groups for moms.
Openminded Homeschoolers is an all inclusive secular homeschool support group based in Avoyelles Parish Louisiana. They offer park days, field trips and support for homeschool families. Openminded Homeschoolers strives to bring together different families for the support and encouragement of one another as they make the homeschool journey.
WHO Inc. is a support group that exists for the purpose of providing service and support to home educators. They support the freedom of all homeschool families and believe that every family has a legal and constitutional right to home educate in the State of Louisiana. WHO Inc. has Christian values, but is non-denominational.
