The APPLE Family and Homeschool Group is a local and regional support group in the Long Island, NY City, and Upstate areas. Their central purpose is for the children and to function as a family group where families of like interests can come together in a variety of ways. The gatherings may be by way of one family -to-one family, or as a group. Gatherings may take place as field trips, outings, organized functions, lunches, dinners, meetings, even spontaneous get-togethers. Homeschooling issues and exchanges of information are also a function of APPLE.

This list is for homeschoolers in the Capital District of New York State -- the Albany/Schenectady/Troy area. Capital District Home Educators (CDHE) welcomes homeschoolers of all types and philosophies. Please note that this is not a religious list, and messages regarding religion are not to be posted here.
Chautauqua County Homeschooling & Mentoring Program (CHAMP) is a secular & inclusive homeschooling group in Chautauqua County and the surrounding area.
Discovery, Resources, Education, Activities and More (DREAM) is a group of families who educate our children at home. The group is secular and is open to all homeschoolers, as well as to those who are thinking about it. The group's goal is to develop a diverse homeschooling community that can provide support, resources, networking and activities for homeschoolers of various ethnic and religious backgrounds throughout Long Island and Queens. They provide a community in which members of the group can plan activities such as field trips, play dates, and learning co-ops, as well as discuss homeschooling issues. They also schedule regular family get-togethers at least six times a year.
East Hampton Homeschool Group is a Christian group serving the Hamptons, (East End of Long Island, New York), Montauk, Amagansett, Wainscott, Watermill, Springs, Napeague, East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor, Sagaponack. Homeschool families in Nassau Suffolk Queens or NYC are welcome to join. It is their desire to have a forum of peaceful, useful discussion where various ideas and topics of interest to homeschooling families will take place.

Family Educators Resource Network (FERN) is an informal networking group for home educators in the areas of Columbia, Rensselaer, and Albany counties in New York and in Berkshire county in Massachusetts. FERN operates as a computer-based "newsletter" for activities, resources, and information to support homeschooling families and those interested in home education.
Glens Falls Homeschoolers is an informal, non-denominational list for homeschooling families in the greater Glens Falls, NY area. The list is intended to notify members of upcoming (and ongoing) events and activities of interest to homeschoolers. This is not intended as a religious or political forum, although members are free to set up and moderate such forums independently.
