The Birmingham Zoo education department has home school science classes for children in 1st-12th grade, as well as home school art classes for students in 2nd-12th grades. Classes consist of animal visits, class discussions, in-class work, activities, labs and homework. Some class materials will be sent home to aid students. Classes are designed to build on one another, but students are not required to attend all topics. These classes are offered between January and April. (Birmingham)

The Homeschool History Academy is a selection of programs at the EarlyWorks Museum Complex created just for homeschool students. Each 2 hour session (10am - 12 noon) includes a variety of history-related activities with an emphasis on hands-on fun, drama and interaction. We hope to provide an enrichment experience for your regular studies. (Huntsville)
McWane Science Center's Home School Labs are designed to supplement what you are teaching at home. Students will be able to use equipment and take part in experiments that are not easily executed in the home classroom. Thier labs fall within the standards of the Alabama Course of Study as well as the National Science Standards. Fall classes run September through December. (Birmingham)
The Mobile Museum of Art's Home School Art School course consists of 16 two-hour classes for three age groups (4 to 6; 7 to10; 11 and up) and are held every other week with a choice of Wednesday or Thursday sessions. The cost is $75 for the first student; $15 for each additional sibling. Art supplies are included. (Mobile)
Sci-Quest invites families to participate in Home School Science, a program designed specifically with homeschoolers’ needs in mind. On the second and third Wednesday of each month*, Sci-Quest educators will lead students through interactive programs on a number of exciting topics.
