|Qualifications & Experience:
||Bachelor’s degree in K-12 exceptional student education from the University of South Florida in 2015; ESOL and reading endorsement from USF; member of the Council for Exceptional Children. Ms. Sexton has been tutoring professionally in math and reading since 2009, and has worked as a support facilitator at the elementary level.
|What to Expect at Your Evaluation:
||Ms. Sexton uses the Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement (K-TEA 3rd edition) for evaluation purposes. The Kaufman is a relaxed, low-stress test that is done in one-on-one sessions and each question includes prompts from the teacher. The number of test questions vary depending on age and grade level, but the average amount of time is about 1 hour per testing session. After the test, Ms. Sexton will review the results with the parents of the child to review any strengths and weaknesses that may help the child’s progress in school, and she can also provide additional educational information and resources that may help the child meet his or her goals.
