Below is an alphabetical list of homeschool evaluators throughout Florida.  Choosing an evaluator is a personal decision and we encourage you to shop around and ask other homeschoolers in your area who they recommend. What to Expect at Your Evaluation: Expect a low stress experience.  You will be required to submit a sample, one from the beginning and one from the end of each course.
Location(s): Skype sessions or phone sessions available.  Course work submitted via email.
Cost: $45 for a 30 minute Skype session, includes review of material prior to session and completion and submission of form to your requested county.

Grick, Patricia

Qualifications & Experience: I taught both at the elementary and middle school level for Orange County Public Schools until making the transition to stay-at-home Mommy and homeschooling parent.
What to Expect at Your Evaluation: Preferably we meet at my home in South Orlando where, for your convenience, you are welcome to bring all of your children along (including those under school age). For an additional fee I will travel to you, dependent upon how far from my home you live. For the evaluation I want to see your educational portfolio with samples of student work as well as a reading list. I would like for your child or children to read to me, a book or passage of their choosing that is on their current reading level. Through friendly conversation in a laid-back atmosphere I will evaluate progress and complete the necessary documentation.
Location(s): Orlando, FL (Orange County although I will also work with families in surrounding areas.)
Cost: $30 for first child, $15 for additional children

Hedrick, Terri

Qualifications & Experience: I have 10+ years classroom teaching experience, and am now a part-time "virtual" teacher.  I am also a homeschooling mom to two elementary-aged daughters! I also hold a B.A. in English and a M.S. in Education.  I've been involved in education in one way or another since 1989.
What to Expect at Your Evaluation: See my website for a list of FAQs.  You will come away from an evaluation with me inspired and above all, encouraged, in your homeschooling journey.
Location(s): Central Florida area for in-person portfolio evaluations or mail the portfolio to me and then I will communicate with your child via Skype or telephone.
Cost: $40 for first child, $25 for siblings.

What to Expect at Your Evaluation: At the evaluation I will review your child's portfolio, ask him or her some questions, and get to know you. As a experienced parent and homeschool advisor, I am open to answering questions and offering advice if requested. This process usually takes between 25 minutes to one hour depending on the number of children. Relaxed homeschoolers are welcome. I am fluent in Spanish.

Cost: $35 first child, $10 for each additional child
