iamhomeschooling.com, established in January 2010, offers a private (umbrella) school for homeschoolers anywhere in the State of Florida. We are listed with the Florida Department of Education in the
Directory of Private Schools in the Sarasota County District. We are a home-based private school for grades K-12, and enrollment with iamhomeschooling.com legally meets the compulsory attendance laws of Florida.
We offer support and record keeping services to comply with Florida's compulsory school attendance requirements. We are affiliated with Florida Virtual School and students are eligible for enrollment with FLVS when they are enrolled in our school. We do not offer curriculum, report cards, transcripts, diplomas, scholarships, or anything else at this time. You are responsible for the implementation of your child(ren)'s education. Students who wish to earn a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship should not enroll in our school during their Junior and Senior years unless they are planning to earn a GED and are able to document their GPA and coursework through official transcripts.
We require annual attendance reporting. Should you choose to enroll your child(ren) in our school, you will be required to submit an annual attendance report. This report must be submitted every twelve months starting from the date of enrollment. It is the parents' responsibility to submit attendance records to us in order to remain in compliance with Florida's compulsory attendance laws. We will send you a courtesy reminder via mail and/or email three (3) months before the due date, a second reminder two (2) months before the due date, and a third reminder one (1) month before the due date. If you do not provide us with the required attendance report by the due date, your child's enrollment will be terminated and you will be sent an email notifying you of the termination date.
Parents must report at least 180 days of attendance for each school year. You may use a form of your own, one of the printable logs available on our website, or any other method of reporting as long as it shows your child's absence or attendance for each school day of the year and meets the following requirements:
|
Rule 6A-1.09512, Equivalent Minimum School Terms for Compulsory Attendance Purposes.

If you enroll your child with iamhomeschooling.com, (s)he is not considered a homeschooler and you do not need to notify your school district of your intent to homeschool. If your child is currently registered with your school district as a homeschooler, you must send them a notice of termination within 30 days of your enrollment with us. If your child is currently a public schooled student, you will need to withdraw your child from the school.
In order for you to enroll your child(ren) with iamhomeschooling.com, you must provide the following documentation (keep a copy for your records):

Any certificate will be accepted as long as the exam has been performed within one year of enrollment and completed by a health care provider licensed to perform physical examinations. Your child shall be exempted from this requirement upon written objection to the school-entry health exam on religious grounds.
-
Certificate of Immunization. In Florida, it would be
DH Form 680, Certification of Immunization or DH Form 681, Religious Exemptions for Immunizations. These forms are available from your
County Health Department. Your child shall be exempted from this requirement upon
written request stating that the administration of immunizing agents conflicts with your religious tenets or practices.
