America's Heritage: An Adventure in Liberty is a tested lesson plan resource and supplement for Kindergarten-12th grade teachers of social studies, U. S. history, U. S. government, political science, economics, geography, speech, and/or related subjects. Written by fellow teachers, the resource consists of age-appropriate and modifiable lesson plans grouped into three separate books according to level: elementary, middle, and high school. The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago offers a What We Do lesson plan kit, a supplement for the average high school or entry-level college economics course. It aims to help you teach about the role of the nation’s central bank in a new and multi-modal way. Included are a DVD that outlines the role and responsibilities of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, a game that helps students understand the concept of inflation, a set of multiple-choice questions, and a take-home assignment that requires the students to reflect on what they have learned. HHMI is a non-profit medical research organization founded by Howard Hughes in 1953. It is one of the largest private funding organizations for biological and medical research in the United States. This link takes you to the HHMI Catalog where you can order DVD's and CD's and download PDF's about evolution, genes, infectious diseases, and more. All products ordered through the HHMI Catalog are free and there is no shipping charge.
