Maria MontessoriMaria Montessori was an Italian physician and educator, a noted humanitarian and devout Catholic best known for the philosophy of education which bears her name. Her educational method is in use today in public schools, private schools, and homeschools throughout the world.  Montessori instruction is primarily suited for, but not limited to, preschool and elementary students. Through the Montessori method, children engage in learning activities of their own choice in a carefully planned learning environment full of hands-on, self-correcting learning materials.
