Look here for an online collection of Aesop's Fables that includes over 655 fables, indexed in table format, with morals listed. Included are Real Audio narrations, Classic Images, Random Images, Random Fables, Search Engine and more.
3   Link   Baldwin Online Children's Literature Project
The Baldwin Online Children's Literature Project publishes online editions of classic children's books from the golden age of children's literature (1880-1922). This is a wonderful resource for homeschoolers following Waldorf or Ambleside curricula.
4   Link   Book Adventure
Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 7,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes. Book Adventure was created by and is maintained by Sylvan Learning.
5   Link   Children's Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD)
A fabulous resource for book reviews. Themed reviews are organized by specific subject or by special calendar days. You can also meet the authors and illustrators. This is also a great resource for homeschoolers doing unit studies.
6   Link   Edgar Allan Poe Museum
Learn about Poe's life, sample of some of Poe's classical works, watch The Tell-Tale Heart come to life in an awesome animated video, answer Fact or Fiction trivia questions, and try to solve the mystery of Poe's death.
7   Link   FreeReading
FreeReading is a high-quality, open-source, free reading intervention program addressing literacy development for grades K-3. Schools and teachers everywhere can use the complete, research-based 40-week program for K-1 students, or use the library of lessons to supplement existing curricula in phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing. The site is also filled with free, downloadable supplemental materials including flashcards, graphical organizers, illustrated readers, decodable texts, audio files, videos and more.
8   Link   Google Lit Trips
Google Lit Trips are free downloadable files that mark the journeys of characters from famous literature on the surface of Google Earth. At each location along the journey there are placemarks with pop-up windows containing a variety of resources including relevant media, thought provoking discussion starters, and links to supplementary information about “real world” references made in that particular portion of the story.

Homeschoolliterature.com was created to highlight books that pertain to homeschooling situations. They read and review each book personally. Their goal is to provide an honest, family-friendly online directory where everyone can come read book reviews and comment on them.

Homeschool Share (HSS) is a on-line cooperative effort of several homeschooling moms to provide free but quality literature-based unit studies and resources.

Lit2Go is an online treasury of children's literature in audiobook format that can be played on any computer or MP3 player. Each passage is aligned with the Sunshine State Standards and includes reading strategies and other information to support classroom use.

LitCharts provides literature study guides that are free to download and print as PDFs. LitCharts are the faster, downloadable alternative to SparkNotes literature guides. Now available as iPhone apps on iTunes.
15   Link   Long Long Time Ago Stories for Children
A story website for all ages, by Rohini Chowdhury. The website brings together stories from round the world. Fables, folktales, fairytales, myths, tales from history, stories behind great discoveries, the great classics retold, science fiction, fantasy, as well as illustrated stories for younger children, and original fiction for older readers. The site also provides reviews of children's books, and brief biographies of children's writers.

Proud publisher of award-winning children's books to suit all ages. Look here for books excerpts and reviews, watch book trailers, learn about the authors, and download free activity guides, discussion guides, reading group guides, and teacher guides.
17   Link   PBS Kids - Reading Games
PBS KIDS Reading Games are designed to help children practice their reading skills while playing with their favorite PBS KIDS friends like Curious George, Super Why and Big Bird.

Progressive Phonics is an all-in-one reading program that is easy, fun, and completely free! (Registration is required (free), but there are sample books you can view before registering.)
19   Link   Reading is Fundamental Activities
Reading is Fundamental (RIF) is the largest children’s literacy nonprofit in the United States. They prepare and motivate children to read by delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who need them most. In addition, you can find scores of literacy resources on their website.
