The Charlotte Mason Method

Charlotte Mason was a 19th Century British educator who devoted her life to improving the quality of children's education. She advocated informal learning and her ideas led to a teaching method used by homeschoolers. The Charlotte Mason method uses "living books"—books written by one person in a conversational or narrative style—and first-hand resources rather than textbooks. The Charlotte Mason method covers the core subjects of reading, writing, and math with short, interest-filled lessons and incorporates the fine arts with real-life experiences.1
