Qualifications and Experience
I unschooled both of my children from K-through high school. I then returned to the classroom to teach for another 7 years where I taught 3rd grade and 5th grade. I also tutor all subject areas in grades K-6, as well as reading and writing in grades K-12. I have a Masters of Education in Reading and I am able to provide reading diagnostic tests. I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham method. I am able to provide screening for dyslexia and provide tutoring for struggling readers and writers.What to Expect at Your Evaluation
I recognize that there are many different homeschooling styles, and that will be taken into consideration when I meet with you and your child. I will need to see a portfolio of your child’s work throughout the year. I will look for “demonstration of educational progress commensurate with her or his ability” as stated in Florida Statute 1002.41. I will also have a discussion with your child as I look at their portfolio. Parents may be present during the portfolio review.Area(s) Served
