Teaching with Unit Studies

Unit studies, also known as integrated studies or multidisciplinary studies, is a teaching method that incorporates a variety of subjects into a single topic or theme. Unit studies focus on your child interests which creates an immediate motivation to learn. Unit studies can take anywhere from days to weeks to complete. They are generally loosly structured, so guidance may be needed to make sure your child doesn't get bored with the topic before the unit study is finished. Unit studies are easy to adapt, so they work well for families with children at different educational levels.
